Dudsy O'Sullivan

Author's details

For many years Dudsy O’Sullivan worked as a children’s bookseller. She presented story time twice a week, reading Roald Dahl and Dr Seuss to crowds of eager, young readers. After a while her fingers began to twitch and she felt an irresistible urge to write a story of her own. After months of feverish scribbling, her first novel, “The Hair-Raising Adventures of Juniper Jasper” was published by New Frontier in 2006.

Dudsy lives in a tiny flat by the seaside in Melbourne, and wishes she had a dog to walk on the beach. She has a cute goldfish, but he is hopeless at fetching Frisbees. And his eyes bulge with panic whenever she tries to give him a cuddle! She has never learnt to drive,  and prefers to tootle around on her rickety bicycle- much to the alarm of truck drivers and little old ladies on the footpath.

Likes: Hammocks, hot air balloons, pelicans and spiders (the fizzy kind).
Dislikes: Water in her gumboots, tidy people, getting up early and spiders (the hairy kind).

Dudsy’s dream is to live in a gipsy caravan, pulled along by a lazy old horse...or a lazy old gipsy.
