Can You Find Me? Shortlisted for the 2018 Environment Award for Children’s Literature

Many congratulations to Patrick Shirvington and Gordon Winch for being shortlisted for the 2018 Environment Award for Children’s Literature for their picture book: Can You Find Me?

When asked about the nomination Patrick Shirvington said: 'I feel that our children see beauty in the natural world that we sometimes take for granted. In the words of John Keats in his poem Endymion: "A thing of beauty is a joy forever".'

In the book, best selling children’s author Gordon Winch takes us to visit some of Australia’s most loved animals and marvel at their clever camouflage. Award winning artist Patrick Shirvington evokes the beauty of the Australian landscape and the unique creatures living there.

Patrick Shirvington is a member of the Australian Association of Environmental Education and together with Gordon Winch created Can You Find Me? with the Australian landscape and environment at its heart.

Can You Find Me? was also a Notable Book for The Children’s Book of the Year Awards and was shortlisted for the Crichton Award for Illustration.
