Anna Pignataro’s magical illustrations capture the emotions of love, loss, pain and joy that are explored throughout the book. She also captures the movement of the water perfectly.

Seal Child is a beautiful story about the friendship between a seal and a girl when all seems lost.

Anna shows us how to draw the seal jumping out of the water and guides us through using coloured pencils.

It's important to make the Seal look a little bit cheeky with his smile and facial expressions.

Add in some splashes and water droplets to make it look like your seal is splashing water!

See how the seal and little girl become friends and get yourself a copy of Seal Child!

Seal Child

While a child searches for a place to call home, she is befriended by a seal. This lyrical tale is one of hope and friendship. Illustrator Anna Pignataro has captured the drama of the sea and sky, creating the perfect backdrop to Robert Vescio’s enchanting story.
